Solid Affiliate is developed specifically for WooCommerce. Where most affiliate plugins add WooCommerce as one integration among many, Solid Affiliate is built around WooCommerce as the primary use case. Coupon-code affiliate tracking – where affiliates get credit when a customer uses their coupon code regardless of referral links – is built in, not an addon.
Step 1: Install and Configure
Solid Affiliate requires a paid license (from $149/year). Install, activate, and enter your license key in Solid Affiliate -> Settings -> License. Go to Solid Affiliate -> Settings -> General for initial configuration:
- Commission rate – default percentage for all affiliates
- Cookie duration – attribution window (30 days is standard)
- Minimum payout – threshold before affiliates can request payment
- Registration mode – open (anyone can apply) or closed (invitation only)
Step 2: WooCommerce Integration Settings
Go to Solid Affiliate -> Settings -> WooCommerce. Configure which order statuses trigger commission recording. By default, “Completed” triggers commission – appropriate for most stores. If you use a fulfillment plugin that keeps orders in “Processing” permanently, change this to match your actual final order status.
Configure refund handling: when a WooCommerce order is refunded, Solid Affiliate can automatically reverse the associated commission. Enable this to avoid paying commissions on orders that were fullly refunded.

Step 3: Coupon Affiliate Tracking
Solid Affiliate’s standout WooCommerce feature. Go to Solid Affiliate -> Affiliates -> Edit [affiliate]. In the affiliate edit screen, link a WooCommerce coupon code to the affiliate. When a customer uses that coupon at checkout – regardless of how they found the store – the affiliate receives credit.
This tracking method is particularly valuable for influencer partnerships where the influencer promotes a discount code on social media. With link-only tracking, an influencer who says “use code SARAH20 for 20% off” earns nothing if the customer types the URL directly instead of clicking the link. Coupon tracking gives the influencer credit regardless.
Step 4: Creative Assets
Solid Affiliate has a built-in creative assets library. Go to Solid Affiliate -> Creatives. Upload banners, text links, and product images that affiliates can use in their promotions. Affiliates access these from their dashboard and get pre-tagged URLs with their affiliate ID.
Providing quality creative assets significantly improves affiliate performance – affiliates who have to create their own promotional materials produce less and lower-quality content than those with ready-made assets.
Step 5: Configure the Affiliate Portal
The affiliate portal page is where affiliates log in, get their referral links, access creatives, and view their stats. Go to Solid Affiliate -> Settings -> Affiliate Portal. Assign the portal page. Customise the portal appearance to match your brand. Affiliates should see a professional experience – a generic-looking portal signals that the program is not well-maintained.
