CartFlows vs FunnelKit: Which WooCommerce Funnel Builder Is Better

CartFlows and FunnelKit (formerly WooFunnels) are the two dominant WooCommerce funnel builders. Both add order bumps, one-click upsells, and custom checkout pages to WooCommerce. The differences in their approach determine which fits your store better.

CartFlows

CartFlows is developed by the same team as Astra theme and SureCart. Its page builder integrations are strong – it works natively with Elementor, Gutenberg, Divi, and Bricks. The funnel creation interface is visual and template-based, making it accessible to non-developers. CartFlows free covers the custom checkout page; Pro ($239/year) adds order bumps, upsells, A/B testing, and analytics.

CartFlows is the more popular option by install base, which means more tutorials, community resources, and template libraries from third parties. If you are already using Elementor or Astra, CartFlows integrates naturally into that plugin library.

FunnelKit

FunnelKit goes beyond funnel building into CRM and marketing automation. Alongside the funnel builder, it includes FunnelKit Automations – a visual automation builder for post-purchase email sequences, abandoned cart recovery, win-back campaigns, and customer segmentation. CartFlows covers the checkout funnel; FunnelKit covers the checkout funnel plus what happens to customers after they buy.

FunnelKit’s checkout builder is also notably more design-flexible. It supports multi-step checkouts (spread across multiple screens), slide-in cart designs, and more granular field layout control than CartFlows. For stores where checkout UX is a priority and standard checkout design is not converting, FunnelKit’s checkout flexibility is an advantage.

Which to Choose

Use CartFlows if: you primarily need funnel pages and order bumps, you use Elementor or Astra, and you want the more established option with the larger community. Use FunnelKit if: you want checkout funnel plus post-purchase email automation in one platform, checkout design flexibility matters for your brand, or you want CRM functionality without a separate email marketing plugin.

Onboarding and Learning Curve

CartFlows has a more guided onboarding experience. The template library covers a wide range of funnel types with visual previews, and the flow creation interface maps closely to how most marketers think about funnels. New users can create a working funnel with order bumps in under an hour. FunnelKit’s onboarding is slightly more complex because of its broader scope – the funnel builder, automations, and CRM each have their own configuration. Expect 2-3 hours to configure FunnelKit with automations for the first time compared to CartFlows’ faster initial setup.

For non-developer store owners, CartFlows’ simpler interface is a practical advantage. For marketing teams with a developer who will manage the full setup, FunnelKit’s additional automation capabilities justify the added complexity.

Template Libraries

CartFlows has a larger template library for funnel pages – checkout pages, order bump designs, and thank you pages in various styles. FunnelKit has a smaller but growing template set. For non-designers who want to launch quickly with a professional-looking funnel, CartFlows’ template variety is a practical advantage. Both import templates with one click and allow customisation through your page builder after import.

Checkout Design Customisation

FunnelKit’s checkout builder supports multi-step checkouts with more design options – slide-in cart, two-column layouts, and custom field positioning that goes beyond what CartFlows offers. For stores where checkout design is a competitive differentiator, FunnelKit’s design flexibility is worth noting. CartFlows integrates tightly with Elementor and Gutenberg for checkout page design, which is familiar to most store owners already using those builders but less flexible for custom checkout layouts than FunnelKit’s dedicated checkout builder.
