How to Set Up Thrive Architect the Right Way

Thrive Architect is built for marketers who need high-converting pages fast. Setup is straightforward if you follow the right sequence. This guide gets you from installation to first live landing page.

Step 1: Install via Thrive Dashboard

Thrive Architect is managed through the Thrive Dashboard plugin. Install Thrive Dashboard first (available in your Thrive member area), then install Thrive Architect from within the dashboard. Enter your license key in Thrive Dashboard → License Manager. This approach manages all Thrive products from one place.

Step 2: Connect Your Email Service

Before building any landing page, connect your email service. Go to Thrive Dashboard → API Connections. Click “Add new connection” and select your email provider (Mailchimp, ConvertKit, ActiveCampaign, etc.). Authenticate and save. This connection is used by all Thrive opt-in forms across your site.

Step 3: Build Your First Landing Page

Create a new WordPress page. In the page editor, click “Edit with Thrive Architect.” The visual editor opens. Click “Landing Pages” in the left panel to access the template library. Filter by category (Lead Generation, Sales Pages, Webinar, etc.) and select a template that matches your goal.

Click on any element to edit it. Thrive Architect’s editing model: click to select, then edit properties in the right panel. Text is edited inline — just click and type. Images, buttons, and forms are configured through the right panel options.

Step 4: Add an Opt-in Form

Add a Lead Generation element from the left panel. This is Thrive Architect’s opt-in form element. In the right panel, select your connected email service and the specific list subscribers join. Customise the form fields, button text, and success message. Enable the two-step opt-in (click button → form appears) for higher conversion rates on lead magnets.

Step 5: Configure Page Settings

For landing pages, set the page template to “Blank” or “Thrive Blank” to remove your theme’s header and footer — most landing pages convert better without navigation that lets visitors leave. Set an SEO title and meta description. Configure Open Graph settings for social sharing.

Step 6: Test and Publish

Preview the page on desktop and mobile. Submit the opt-in form with a test email address and verify the subscriber appears in your email service. Check the success message or redirect works correctly. Then publish and set the page as live.
