Common Thrive Architect Problems and How to Fix Them

Thrive Architect issues typically fall into three categories: editor problems (not loading, not saving), form problems (not connecting to email service, not submitting), and design problems (mobile layout, CSS conflicts). Here is how to fix the most common ones.

Thrive Architect Editor Not Loading

If the editor shows a blank screen or endless loading spinner:

  • Clear all caches — caching plugins, Cloudflare, and browser cache
  • Deactivate other plugins temporarily to check for JavaScript conflicts
  • Check browser console (F12 → Console) for JavaScript errors — these point to the conflicting script
  • Verify PHP memory limit is at least 256MB in wp-config.php: define('WP_MEMORY_LIMIT', '256M');
  • Try a different browser — occasionally browser extensions block Thrive Architect scripts

Changes Not Saving

If saving fails or reverts changes:

  • Increase PHP max_execution_time — saving large pages can timeout on slower hosting
  • Check for security plugin rules blocking POST requests to admin-ajax.php
  • Disable any firewall rules (Wordfence, Cloudflare WAF) temporarily to test
  • Save more frequently with smaller changes rather than one large save

Opt-in Form Not Submitting

If the form button does nothing or shows an error:

  • Verify the API connection in Thrive Dashboard → API Connections is still active — reconnect if expired
  • Check that the correct email list is selected in the form element settings
  • Test with a fresh form element — existing form configurations can become corrupted
  • Check for JavaScript errors in browser console when clicking submit
  • Verify the email address format in test submissions — some configurations reject certain formats

Mobile Layout Broken

If pages look incorrect on mobile:

  • Open the Thrive Architect editor and switch to mobile preview using the device icons in the top bar
  • Select elements that look wrong and check their responsive settings — some may have fixed widths set
  • Check column settings on mobile — multi-column layouts often need to be set to stack (single column) on mobile
  • Look for elements with fixed pixel widths rather than percentage widths — these do not adapt to mobile

Templates Not Loading in Library

If the template library shows blank or fails to load:

  • Verify your Thrive license is active in Thrive Dashboard → License Manager
  • Check server outbound connections are not blocked — Thrive loads templates from its servers
  • Clear the Thrive template cache by temporarily deactivating and reactivating Thrive Architect
  • Try in a different browser or incognito mode
